My background is in dance theatre, where I worked for many years as a director and choreographer. Through this work, I came to understand that technical skill and stage vocabulary alone are often not enough to support a performer’s full potential. Again and again, the limits were not artistic, but human.
To put it a bit black and white: If a person is not allowed - internally or externally - to be seen as who they truly are, how can they feel at ease under the gaze of an audience - being watched, evaluated, and exposed? When someone is uncomfortable in their own skin, the audience senses it immediately. There is a subtle tension, a kind of unease, and the connection breaks. The audience reacts, often without knowing why. Presence cannot be forced; it has to be embodied.
This insight changed my work fundamentally. I realised that what was needed went deeper than rehearsal methods or stage direction. Performers didn’t just need to do better; they needed to be more at home in themselves. That is when I began to work with what we perhaps can call “healing” tools—approaches that address self-perception, inner permission, emotional blocks, and embodied presence. As these inner obstacles dissolved, something remarkable happened: stage presence strengthened naturally. No acting was required. Presence, honesty emerged.
The transition into healing work therefore came organically. At its core, my work has always been about the same question: how can a person fully inhabit themselves and allow their own light to be seen? The aim may differ - stage presence or personal healing - but the essence is the same. When we allow ourselves to shine from within, presence becomes natural, whether on stage or in life.
The second path into healing emerged through my own health challenges. When persistent joint problems began to threaten my stage career, the lack of depth I encountered in conventional, symptom-focused medicine led me deeply into a holistic understanding of health and wellbeing; body, mind and soul are a unit and not subject to different specialists
